Permanent tree wrapping with 360-degree diamond lights

A wrapped tree is what turns a lit roofline into a lit property. The J40 diamond light throws light in every direction, which is what a trunk and branches need, and one cord spirals up the trunk and out the main limbs with a light every two feet.

$22 per light, which is $11 per foot of wrap path. A 25 to 30-foot maple with four main branches is usually 90 to 110 lights.

Which trees

Deciduous trees with a visible branch structure wrap best: maples, oaks, birches, dogwoods. Firs and cedars get a spiral up the trunk and a run along the lowest tiers, since you can't wrap a dense canopy. Trees over 20 feet need a lift, quoted up front.

Tree health

We wrap loosely, leave room for growth, and put no fasteners in the bark. At the annual check we retension the wrap. The lights are 24-volt and run cool.

Scenes

Trees carry color better than rooflines because they're three-dimensional. Halloween orange, a Christmas twinkle, or a slow rainbow fade all read from a distance. Nightly, most owners run the tree in the same warm white as the house.

How many lights does my tree need?
About 3 per foot of trunk height plus 8 to 12 per major branch. A 25-foot maple with four branches is about 90 lights.
Do you wrap trees without a roofline install?
Yes, with a $495 system line for the controller and the $2,500 minimum. Two or three trees along a driveway is a common standalone job.
Will the wrap damage the tree as it grows?
Not if it's checked annually. We leave slack and recheck tension; a wrap that gets tight is loosened at the visit.

  3. Click each corner along the roof edges you want lit. The total in feet shows at the bottom.
