What to check in your lighting warranty

Confirm the warranty in writing

Manufacturer coverage and installation workmanship are different. Before ordering, obtain the current terms for the exact system and the installer’s written service policy. Check duration, covered parts, labor, access charges, exclusions and transferability. The installation workmanship is covered for one year.

Our coverage, in three parts

Permanent Lights NW provides a lifetime warranty on the lights, 10 years on the controller and one year on installation workmanship. Your quote includes the applicable terms, exclusions and service arrangements.

When comparing brands, separate the light warranty from controller coverage and repair labor. A lifetime light warranty does not automatically mean every future service visit is free. Our all-brands comparison links to the manufacturers’ current coverage information.

What fails and how it's fixed

Individual lights. Each pebble or puck twist-locks into the strand; a failed one is swapped in a minute, and the rest of the strand keeps working around it.

Power supplies. IP67 supplies live outdoors for years, but a supply is the part most likely to be replaced in a decade. It plugs in.

Controllers. Firmware updates come through the app; hardware failure means a swap with the same schedules restored from the app.

Tape and brackets. Have a lifted or damaged mounting section inspected. Whether reattachment is covered depends on the cause and your written workmanship terms.

Maintenance

Follow the care instructions for the selected lights and mounting system. Inspect for loose sections or damaged connections, allow tree wraps to accommodate growth, and ask whether inspection or maintenance visits are offered and what they cost.

Two things worth doing yourself: tell your gutter cleaner the channel is there, and keep the controller's Wi-Fi password current after a router change.
