Compare all 7 brandsThe short version
What actually changes your decision.

Longer parts coverage on Trimlight
Trimlight covers parts for 50,000 hours of use; JellyFish for five years. Both give one year of labor, and Trimlight’s warranty doesn’t transfer to a new owner.

Consider Trimlight
If you want 12-volt lights that sit just below the channel, 6, 9 or 12-inch spacing, a parts warranty measured in hours of use, and dealer pages for both Woodland and Portland.
Consider JellyFish
If you want downward-facing lights behind a frosted lens, 6, 9 or 16-inch spacing, and the smart-home list on its site: Alexa, Google Home, Control4 and Nice-Elan.

Beyond the headline
A few details worth a closer look.
The white-light question
Trimlight lists its Classic and 3L lights as RGB, and JellyFish lists three RGB diodes per light, so on both the everyday warm white is a mix of red, green and blue. JellyFish offers presets from 2700K to 5000K. The Minleon pebbles and pucks we install add a dedicated warm-white diode at about 3000K. Judge the white in person, at the brightness you would use every night.
[3][4][14][12][20][21]Warranty fine print
Trimlight’s “lifetime” parts warranty is defined as 50,000 hours of use, about 20 to 30 years of regular use by its own estimate. Labor comes from the dealer for at least a year, registration is due within 30 days of installation, the warranty doesn’t transfer if you sell, and Trimlight’s spec pages say daytime use may void it.
JellyFish lists five years on parts and one year on labor, with no published transfer terms. On both, labor coverage runs one year, so a later repair can mean paying for the visit even when the part is covered. JellyFish’s FAQ adds that the lights are low voltage, so homeowners can replace one themselves.
[6][7][3][14][12]Price per foot, then the controller
On an example 220-foot roofline, Trimlight’s published range works out to $3,960–$7,700 before any controller line. JellyFish’s comes to $5,500–$7,700 plus $650–850 for the controller. That’s arithmetic from their published rates, not a quote; a written quote for the same measured feet is what counts. Our track packages include the controller. We charge by the foot: simple, honest, no hidden fees. Your written quote spells out everything before any work starts.
[1][11][17]Local service in Clark County and Portland
Trimlight has dealer pages for Woodland, WA, whose service list includes Vancouver, Camas, Battle Ground, Ridgefield and Washougal, and for Portland, OR, including Beaverton, Gresham and Hillsboro. Trimlight HQ doesn’t install or repair, so that dealer is who you call. JellyFish lists Vancouver, WA, Portland and Hillsboro among its install locations; its corporate locations are in Utah, Colorado, Texas and Florida, and its published price is for those corporate installs.
[8][9][5][15][11]Where the comparison pages disagree
Trimlight’s own Trimlight vs JellyFish page, dated January 1, 2026, lists JellyFish at 9-inch spacing only, and its text says JellyFish doesn’t sync lights to music. JellyFish’s product page lists 6, 9 and 16-inch spacing, and JellyFish sells a Music Box add-on for music. That’s why every cell above comes from each brand’s own page about its own product.
[10][14][16]When neither fits
If you want a dedicated warm-white diode for everyday evenings, the Minleon systems we install have one, with the controller included on track packages. C9 Classic on clips costs less per foot than our track packages, with the wire visible by day. We charge by the foot: simple, honest, no hidden fees. Your written quote spells out everything before any work starts.
